It was declared in 2010 that Doha will serve as the World Cup 2022 Tournament’s host city. In order to prepare for its “time in the sun, ” Qatar is proud to be the first Middle Eastern nation to host the World Cup. There are reportedly plans for it to be used in Maldonado, Uruguay, to host the 2030 World Cup, if the country’s bid to host is successful. At this point, Kenya could also consider bidding now that we have a more convenient way of putting up a World Cup stadium.

The stadium’s architecture also considered cutting down on water usage by roughly 40% by relying on natural breeze rather than artificial cooling systems because it is located on Doha’s shoreline. Stadium 974 is named after the nation’s dialing code and the number of ocean shipping containers that were utilized in its construction.
